After much thought I’ve decided to send the money to two different organizations, half to Danita’s Children and the other half to the International Rescue Committee.
- $250 will be going to Danita’s Children, an orphanage dedicated to helping needy children.
- $250 will go to the International Rescue Committee, specifically for health care, and medicine.

Although I would have preferred to have donated the money to a more creative cause such as phonecards, or a performing arts event, I was told that the logistics and costs would be too complicated.
I would like to thank all of you again that participated whether by submitting ideas, pledging money or promoting. We showed how generous the blogging world could be for disasters such as the one in Haiti.

Great, I’m so glad that you participated. Thanks again
Hi Ben,
Both are great choices! In sharing my idea I was trying to think of a way you could multiply the money….in true entrepreneur fashion. But the community helped to do that part for you with a lot lower risk.
In honor of you and Renegade Teens for Global Change, I am going to also make a donation to Danita’s Children. I lost my company bank card today…so that was my sign from the universe that I need to donate some money to someone this month
Appreciate you so much. You are truly inspirational.

Thanks so much Lee for participating, the money really will help especially now when the media has stopped focusing on Haiti…
Hey Ben, I met with Danita’s US office in Orlando last week and presented the money Run4Haiti.com raised and told her about your site as well. They were very happy to hear about you and very much in need since they took in many more orphans since the quake. I also heard from Danita herself, and she is in Port-Au-Prince right now helping and looking for more children in need. So its a very worthy cause and thanks again for choosing them. It was greatly appreciated. Check my site for updates if you’re curious.
Great work.

Thanks again for introducing me to Danita’s Children.
I sent 20 bucks to text to wyclef’s charity for Haiti. Hope people doing the right thing too.
That’s great to hear, it’s so impressive how much they raised through that text messaging campaign.
