Hey Brother.. Great Idea.. I encourage you to do it again.. Haitian still need help.

They still need shelter.. They still need our Love and prayers.. Lets keep pressing in and showing them Love!

I know the contest is over but I want to post my idea anyway and if anyone knows how to make it happen then please contact me.

1) At the Port of Port Au Prince there is over a thousand shipping containers.
(check it out on google earth)

a) these containers could be used as housing/shelter right where they are at.
Shipping containers are earthquake proof and dry.
Also this would make the task food and aid distribution more effective and easier.

b)Selected containers could have holes cut in the top to make giant “Port Au Potty’s”

Doing this would not only save lives.. even now.. but also would ease the pain of the Haitians in the Port Au Prince because they would not be in the middle of the devastation, and out of the way of clean up.

Thing is.. i do not know if any amount of money could make this happen.. I think it has to be a shift in someones heart.. who is in control of the port.. I am welcome to any ideas of how to make this happen..

It has been a long time since I’ve seen you online and looks like you’re doing really well.I think your efforts in raising money for Haiti were wonderful – I am still raising money but things are much slower now. thanks for your reply! to answer your question here is my plan.
hypothetically speaking, we would all purchase pre-paid mobile phones of any credit amount. donate them to local establishments with close ties to the relief efforts in haiti. school, church and other volunteer organizations are generally good candidates for the task. here are some products i have found that are in direct communication with haiti. this could be a way to bridge the gap of communication between native haitians living abroad to those in their homeland. also, we could start a crisis hotline or maybe a concentrated open forum for sharing words, thoughts and feelings of comfort. if possible i would need as much help in the execution of this plan as possible. as i previously state, we as ordinary civilians may not be able to donate in large amounts but the avenue of communication can be just as important. that phone cards are for people abroad who maybe have family or friends back home. thanks.

GREETINGS, JOSE HERE FOR AN UPDATE ON SOME RESEARCH I HAVE DONE. AS LOCAL AIRPORTS AND BOAT LOADING DOCKS IN THE AFFECTED AREAS OF HAITI ARE BEING BLOCKED OFF FROM TIME TO TIME DUE TO OVERCROWDING OF COUNTLESS ORGANIZATIONS IN AID, WORLDWIDE IT HAS BEEN AND COULD BE MORE DIFFICULT TO SEND MATERIAL SUPPORT. IN MY OPINION, BASED ON THESE FACTS OR POSSIBILITIES, COMMUNICATION AND MORAL SUPPORT MIGHT BE THE BEST WAY FOR US CIVILIAN AND NON-GOVERNMENT PARTICIPANTS TO HELP. OF COURSE WE CAN AND SHOULD CONTINUE DONATING ESSENTIAL MATERIAL GOODS SUCH AS FOOD OR CLOTHING. HOWEVER, I FEEL THAT OUR FOCUS AS A COLLECTIVE COMMUNITY OUTSIDE OF ANY ORGANIZATION SHOULD BE PLACED ON THE PHONE-CARD, PRE-PAID CELL PHONE IDEA. FIRST, WE WON’T BE ADDING TO THE CHAOS IN HAITI’S AIRPORTS AND LOADING DOCS BECAUSE CELLPHONE MINUTES AND PHONE CARDS DO NOT NECESSARILY REQUIRE DELIVERY. WE CAN JUST PICK UP THE PHONE AND DIAL. ONCE AGAIN HERE IS THE PLAN I PROPOSED A FEW DAYS AGO. EVERYONE’S FEEDBACK IS WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED…

here is my plan of action for anyone that would like to get started.
1. purchase phone cards, internet cards or pre-paid mobile phones (boost, metro p.c.s…etc.) at any amount from your local mobile phone retailer. (verison, t-mobile, at&t, sprint, metro p.c.s…etc.)
2. contact a store manager on setting up a donation program with direct communication access to haiti.
3. contact any local church or school with related donation programs to haiti.
4. keep in close contact with that store, school or church to ensure proper use. (if we are able to invest our money in donation, we can surely do the same with these virtual goods that can somewhat be more effective or efficiently used!)
